Compression Therapy

Compression therapy is generally safe and well-tolerated. However, there are some potential side effects, such as skin irritation and numbness. If you are considering compression therapy, it is important to talk to your doctor to make sure it is right for you.

How Does compression work

Hyperice NormaTec compression machines utilise a patented PULSE Massage Pattern technology, which we’ll outline below.

Pre-inflation

First, a Hyperice NormaTec session begins with a ‘pre-inflate cycle’. During this process, the leg moulds of the boots will be moulded into the exact shapes of your limbs. This process takes around 90 seconds.

Pulsing

Next, you'll start to feel the compression. This isn't exactly a 'squeeze', but 'pulsing' that mimics a muscle pump inside your body. It is therefore different from traditional pneumatic compression. The pulsing will start at your feet and work your way up the leg. You'll feel like you're receiving a deep tissue massage.

Backflow prevention

The pulse technology in a Hyperice NormaTec boot is designed to work with your lymphatic system and hold the pressure in your body and prevent backflow. This makes sure that the fluid in your body flows in the correct direction.

Sequential pulse

Hyperice NormaTec’s patented sequential pulse is different from standard static pressure on your muscles. The boots will release hold pressures in your body when the backflow no longer requires them. This is to make sure every part of leg gets adequate rest during the compression process.

Who are they good for?

The best age to start

There is no age limit for compression therapy. Compression therapy is safe and effective for people of all ages. However, it is important to talk to your doctor before using compression therapy if you have any medical conditions, such as heart disease, diabetes, or high blood pressure.

Compression therapy can be used by people of all ages, from children to adults. It is a safe and effective way to improve circulation, reduce swelling, and relieve pain. Compression therapy can also be used to help prevent blood clots and improve sleep quality.

Benefits of Compression Therapy

Improved blood circulation

Compression therapy enhances blood circulation by applying pressure to the legs, which helps to move blood and oxygen more efficiently throughout the body.

Reduced pain

Compression therapy helps to reduce pain by applying pressure to the muscles and joints, which can help to alleviate inflammation and muscle soreness.

Improved range of motion

Compression therapy can help to improve range of motion by reducing muscle soreness and inflammation, and by improving blood flow to the muscles.

Improved Sleep Quality

Compression therapy can help to improve sleep quality by reducing pain and inflammation. This can be helpful for people who have conditions such as restless leg syndrome.

Reduced muscle fatigue

Compression therapy helps reduce muscle fatigue by improving blood flow and oxygenating the muscles. This can be beneficial for athletes and those recovering from injuries.

Enhanced athletic performance

Compression therapy can enhance athletic performance by helping to reduce muscle soreness, improve range of motion, and reduce muscle fatigue.

Are you a weekend warrior or looking to increase blood flow in your legs?

This 30 minute session will speed up Lactate Clearance which causes sore muscles and will improve your range of motion. Compression therapy improves blood flow and circulation and lowers stress.
